In text citation

Example two:

It is important to acknowledge your sources (Pechnik, 2016:28).

Reference List entry

Book by two authors

In text citation

Example one:

Grant and Borcherds (2014:71) argues that...

Example two:

... (Grant & Borcherds, 2014:71).

Reference List entry

Grant, T. Borcherds, R. (2014). Communicating @ work. 3rd ed. Pretoria: Van Schaik publishers. 

Three or more authors

In text citation

Example one:

According to Alvstad, Hild and Tiselius (2011:15)...

Example two:

... is the first recorded example of this activity (Alvstad, Hild & Tiselius, 2011:15).

Reference List entry

Alvstad, C., Hild, A. & Tiselius, E. (2011). Methods and strategies of process research. Amsterdam: John Benjamins.
 

PLEASE NOTE:

* After the first citation of a source with three or more authors, give the first author's surname followed by et al.

For example: ...(Niemand et al., 2002:15).
